Smith Family Lilacs is a unique line that creates pieces of jewelry and bookmarks from heirloom lilacs honoring the Joseph Smith, Sr. and Lucy Mack Smith's family ancestry. We share the special history of the Smith Family and their love of lilacs nurtured for and by generations of descendants. Their "Love of the Lilacs" not only comes from the beauty and aroma of the flowers, but also from the strength and sturdiness of their roots; they also have healing properties in their aroma and oils strengthening or helping mental and physical well-being. Overall these flowers not only bring beauty and comfort but exhibit strength and healing in times of trials.
Each spring my daughter, Courtney and I (descendants of Hyrum and Jerusha Smith) gather lilac blossoms from Smith Family gardens as well as Smith Family Historic sites across the country such as Nauvoo, IL, Kirtland, OH and Mary Fielding Smith's cottage in Salt Lake City, UT.
Every lilac is carefully selected, cut, pressed, dried and arranged for our Smith Family Lilac line, or as we loving like to call them Smith "heir-blooms," encompassing a heartfelt connections to the Smith Family legacy.
We hope you feel the "Love of the Lilacs" and the Smith Family connection impressed upon your hearts.
